Built Through Relationships. Strengthened Across Generations.
What began as a single textile journey in Visakhapatnam grew through discipline, customer trust, and relationships built across generations. Today, CMR Group spans shopping malls, jewellery, handlooms, real estate, and community initiatives across South India while remaining deeply rooted in the values that shaped its beginning.
40+ Years of Trust
Four decades of customer relationships built through consistency, transparency, and long term thinking.
82+ Stores Across 4 States
A growing retail ecosystem serving millions of families across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha.
2.2m+ sq.ft.
From shopping malls and jewellery to handlooms and lifestyle ventures, CMR continues to expand across South India with scale and purpose.
What Began With Values Became a Legacy
Sri Mavuri Venkata Ramana’s journey reflects the story of a man who built trust before scale. Arriving in Visakhapatnam in the 1980s to support his family’s textile business, he helped shape what would eventually become one of South India’s most recognised retail ecosystems.
Over the decades, CMR evolved beyond retail into shopping malls, jewellery, handlooms, real estate, and lifestyle ventures across multiple states. Yet even as the business expanded, the values remained unchanged.
Beyond business, he became widely respected for his quiet commitment to philanthropy. His contributions have supported temples, schools, hospitals, annadanam initiatives, disaster relief, goshalas, sports, education assistance, and cultural programs across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Much of this work was carried out away from publicity, driven by a belief that giving back was not charity, but responsibility.
“We don’t sell products. We earn trust. That is the only reason this business exists.”

Carrying The Legacy Forward
Mavuri Mohan Balaji represents the next generation of leadership carrying the CMR legacy forward into a new era of retail, lifestyle, and cultural relevance. Having grown up around the business, he witnessed firsthand how trust, consistency, and customer relationships shaped CMR from a single retail journey into one of South India’s most recognised business groups.
Over the years, he has played an active role in expanding the group across shopping malls, jewellery, handlooms, lifestyle ventures, and modern retail experiences while staying deeply connected to the values established by the founder, Sri Mavuri Venkata Ramana.
Under his leadership, CMR has continued to strengthen its presence across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through large format retail destinations, premium shopping environments, and new generation lifestyle brands.
He has also been closely associated with initiatives that celebrate Indian craftsmanship, especially handlooms and heritage weaves, helping create platforms that connect traditional artistry with contemporary audiences.
Beyond expansion and business growth, Mohan Balaji believes institutions must contribute meaningfully to society. From artisan support and cultural preservation to education and community initiatives, he continues to support efforts that reflect the larger philosophy on which CMR was built.
“We may expand across cities and businesses, but the foundation will always remain the same: trust, relationships, and responsibility.”
